Scene 2: Glacier & Snowflakes
The scene opens with a small snow drift at center stage. Wegener appears lost and cold. The snowflakes come in and the snowbank grows larger. Wegener continues to get weaker until he is engulfed by the snowbank.

Scene 2. Glacier and Snowflakes.
Description: Show online video of continents moving back in time. Following video, narrators and news kid introduces show as a “story of plate tectonics”. Then a dramatic opening that shows Wegener dying on a glacier. Snowflakes will initiate the dance scene.

The scientific journey
In 1930, Wegener’s research team ran out of supplies while collecting weather data with weather balloons in Greenland. As the leader, he attempted to make the dangerous trip back to the base camp with one colleague. Neither succeeded. Wegener’s body was recovered many years later.
